Somehow no one got hurt

The Fourth of July celebration in Claremore is a fireworks extravaganza, and every year it seems to get a little bigger and a little more intense.

The kids enjoy (relatively) safer fireworks like smoke bombs and parachutes,

while the boys set up the big finale, which has been in the works for months.
And it is amazing, terrifying, but amazing.
Stephanie and I agreed that it felt like we were in a snow globe of explosives.
Quite the experience.

Gearin' up for the Fourth

Independence Day is a big deal around these parts, and I have grown accustomed, and really look forward to the fireworks that begin shooting off in our neighborhood about a week before the 4th.
It also doesn't hurt that we have a fire works stand in the field behind our home.
It's our yearly tradition to go visit it (at least once) and purchase an assortment of explosives to help us get into the spirit of things.

Gotta love the moves.  And the outfit.

London demonstrating how she quickly, and carefully (and don't forget gracefully) backs away after the rockets been lit.

How she actually gets away from a lit rocket.
 3, 2, 1.....

BLASTOFF !
Happy Fourth of July!
