Just a disclaimer. It does, however, have to do with my super exciting, makes me want to dance, really got lucky find on craigslist. If I have talked to you at all in the last two years of my life, you'll know that I've been on the hunt for a 'new' table. I've been more than patient with our old table that scratched my children's heads when they crawled underneath and lovingly left brown stains on the carpet where the legs were. Not that it didn't have it's good qualities too, I never had to worry about the surface (Formica doesn't scratch, stain, or show any kind of where or tear that I can see), and we have eaten at that table since James and I have been married (almost 6 years). So I'm not about to chop it into kindling, but I am ready to say goodbye and move on to my fabulous find.
Meet our new table. And before you giggle and smirk at my odd taste (and the fact that the table looks like it belongs in my great grandmother's house), let me explain myself.
First off, I wanted something unique.
Second, I wanted something 'vintage' (which really just goes back to point #1).
And third I wanted something that had no sharp corners (for little heads toddling around it),not too big (for our small eating area), but that could become big (when we have friends and family over), and that was ooozing with charm and character.....whalaaa.
(Here it is again, in case you didn't get a good enough look the first time.)
I love everything from her (I guess I've decided it's a she)little gold glazed double pedestal bottom, to her gorgeous dark stained top. But I'm not finished with her yet, although, she is in great condition, considering she's around 40 yrs. old. No, I have plans for this little (sometimes big) table.

Love it Kristen! I am currently in the midst of refinishing our table and chairs. Lots of work but fun!
I'm in love! I think I am going to drag you with me this summer for some estate sales. Then I think we are going to buy up all the items that have "potential". We are then going to give them their potential. Then we are going to sell them, and then we are going to take that money and do it all over again. :) Are you in? :)
Sounds like so much fun!!! I'm totally in!
Kristen, I love it! That table looks like it is just your taste! I'm interested in your big plans for her... are you going to paint the legs white to match the chairs? It looks great now... I can't imagine what it will look like after your improvements!
Love it! I get 1st dibs if you ever get tired of it!
